This drive has proven to be fast and the U3 software useful. I wish the case were a little more substantial, but the performance is good. I was able to write data at about 6 or 7 MB/sec and read it at over 20 MB/sec (Sorry I am not more exact, but this was timed using my watch).

I love this microdrive. I have had at least 5 different sizes (and models) in the past and this is my favorite one.
SIZE: This is the biggest usb drive I have ever purchased. I was initially looking for a 1GB drive, but then I saw the price on this one. Wow, not bad at all. (I know that there is also an 8GB drive out there, but I think the price on that one is still realistically prohibitive). For 4GB, the price on this one is really good.

I have had two Sandisk Cruzer 4GB drives stop working. After the first one died, I was scrupulous about using Windows "stop/ safe eject" process, thinking I had caused the problem. But two giving out within a year can't be the result of the way I'm handling the drive. Both times, it stopped being recognized by Windows, or I got an error message saying the drive must be formatted, but it wouldn't install so that I could run it or format it. Avoid this one like the plague, and don't store anything on it that isn't backed up.
