Product Description
A-DATA's S805 USB Flash Drive, featuring mountain-climbing sky hooks, blends delicate craftsmanship with a touch of style - making it the ultimate piece for fashion follower like yourself with great passion in sports.
Comment: For a long time I'd been looking for a flashdrive that I could hang on my keychain without it falling apart. One big thing I wanted was no cap. Those always get lost, and the connector gets all gummed up.
This drive is perfect for that situation. I've had it on my keychain for months now. The construction is solid, and the drive appears to work just fine.

Summary: Still Very Pleased After One Year of Use 2010-07-10
Comment: My wife bought me the 8gb version for my birthday last July. I have now been using the thumb drive for one full year and I continue to be pleased with its performance. It has held up to everyday wear and tear very well. After one year of use -- it has been clipped to my key chain the entire time -- it still looks like new. All features of the design (i.e., the clip, the swivel connector, etc.) have held up nicely and still function like new. No complaints here. I am very pleased with this thumb drive and would recommend it.

Summary: Beautiful, but slow transfer speeds 2010-07-08
Comment: It took a bit of digging to find benchmarks, but this website ([...]) gives a good breakdown. With fairly abysmal write speeds and solidly average read speeds, this drive's main appeal lies in its very nice design. I do not own this product, but while looking for new flash drives, I almost pulled the trigger here. If you don't plan to transfer large files, this would be a decent buy, but it's too slow for my tastes.
I wish Amazon would list read/write performance for all flash drives, though. It would make for easy comparison!

Summary: Great Flash Drive! 2010-07-07
Comment: I have owned this little miracle for a few months now, and it works flawlessly. The USB connector swivels out straight, or at a 90 degree angle to make plugging it into tight places very easy. I have not had it fail yet, and with all the jostling among my keys, it still looks nearly new. Being able to clip it on a keyring makes it easy to take, and the swivel USB connector means there is no cap to lose. Some reviewers have had problems, but I personally am very pleased with it and would recommend this device to anyone who wants a good-looking, reliable flash drive that won't make you look like a techno-geek!

Summary: fried flash drive 2010-06-24
Comment: As with any flash or solid state drives they can easily be damaged one of two ways. It's either your operating system has latched onto some of the drives data and since its in use ejecting the drive is sometimes impossible in which case I use device manager and do the "End Task" on that process/service. The other reason behind flash memory device failures is the surge of power from a 1.0/2.0 usb port jolting the device and wiping out the drives boot sector. We can only pray that the makers of these devices come up with surge protected drives and that companies making our operating systems program the O/S to better handle and release the drive for better ejection or removal of the device to protect data. The quality of this device was nice however until the above 2 issues are resolved it won't matter people what brand of flash memory devices we buy. They can all crash like this one did on me. I found that to avoid the power surge issue better on the usb port I use an extended cable such as Belkin's usb port base that comes with the 54g wifi usb stick so the power form the port has a length of cable to through which softens the surge to the flash drive. And using device manager to end process when the simple "Safely remove hardware" fails helps prolong the life of the drive too. One thing you never want to do is just pull a flash drive out without properly ending all processes or "Safely removing hardware". I hope my 25+ years of computer knowledge helps future users of these devices prolong the life of their flash drives. I always buy the ones with Lifetime Warranties and you better believe I make the manufacturers uphold their promise of that warranty.
