This USB drive is a lot thinner than you might think. It's about 2mm thick, which makes it almost the same thickness as a generic house key. I see this as excellent because it weighs very little and doesn't make your key chain unbearably heavy. It does not come with a cap for the end, so the connection is completely exposed. This may cause problems in the future, especially because I am using it on a keychain and other keys could scrape the connector. Be aware that the key is emblazoned with a black circle with a red "A" inside of it. Personally this doesn't really bother me at all, but the seller really needs to update the image. It works well. You need to plug it into your USB port with the yellow connector part facing up, or it might short circuit your computer. The free space on the device is approximately 3.75GB. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: AMP 4GB Chrome Key Shaped USB Flash Drive (Personal Computers) Connection to all USB ports is much too loose. Loses connection mid transfer all the time and in my case makes it pretty much worthless. I'm not going to prop a USB key to make it work.
I'm buying a LaCie now and hoping for better luck. BTW: Plug it in wrong and it'll short out your laptop and shut it down. I understand they wanted it thin, but if it's thinner than the port the thing is unusuable. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: AMP 4GB Chrome Key Shaped USB Flash Drive (Personal Computers) Ive had this a few months and it has been great at times and also frustrating. I love having it on my keychain where it is always available and not held on by a lanyard that can break or work its way off. It doesnt work all the time in all PCs. I often get a "USB device not recognized" and have to keep trying or use a different port to get it to work. It has progressively gotten worse to the point I finally got rid of it today. I think i'll eventually replace it with the other more expensive key shaped USB drive. |
