This review is from: Corsair 32 GB Flash Voyager GTR USB 2.0 Flash Drive CMFVYA32GBGT2 (Personal Computers) I had problems after about a month, where in rare instances the GTR's firmware would become corrupt if the device was unplugged while performing a read/write operation. The status LED would also blink continuously, and the unit would show up on Windows Explorer as a removable device asking for media to be inserted, and it couldn't be accessed nor formatted. Since it happens so rarely, I can't be 100% sure as to the exact set of conditions that trigger the problem, but what I do know is that there's a utility out there called "IT1168 DtMPTool V1.68.1.0" which can rewrite the GTR's firmware and possibly undo the problem (if only temporarily, until the next hiccups). (Hint: Install the utility, run it, use "F3 Enum" to detect the GTR, then right click on the the detected device that shows up on the list and select start.) This review is from: Corsair 128 GB Flash Voyager GTR USB 2.0 Flash Drive CMFVYA128GBGT2 (Personal Computers) Very fast. Booted my machine from an OS image that I installed on it and could not tell it was being run from USB. Used it 2 more times and then it would not mount any longer. Did not even carry it around. It was sitting on my desk the whole time. Googled the problem and it appears it happens regularly with this unit. I cant have a flash drive that may or may not work when I am out in the field. Returned for refund. Hopefully they will fix them problems. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Corsair 32 GB Flash Voyager GTR USB 2.0 Flash Drive CMFVYA32GBGT2 (Personal Computers) This flash drive stopped working after one month. It is now on it's way back to Corsair. I know things are sometimes defective but after reading various forums on the web, this seems to be a major problem for Corsair.Review Update..... Got a new drive from Corsair and have had the same problem. Tried the firmware update, worked for a while and again it crashed. Luckily, I back up my music. Giving up on Corsair and will buy one from a different company. |
