Product Review

Encased in an aircraft-grade aluminum housing that's waterproof to 200 meters, Flash Survivor USB 3.0 drives offer incredibly rugged protection for your important data. Adventure-proof design: Constructed from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum, waterproof to 200 meters with an EPDM water seal, and both shockproof and drop tested with a molded shock-dampening collar. This unique drive is designed to protect your valuable data on whatever adventures you have planned. It offers the high performance of USB 3.0 and full compatibility with USB 2.0. Just plug it in and it works, with Windows, Mac OS X and even Linux. The Flash Survivor USB 3.0 is backed by Corsair, a respected name with a passion for quality and customer service. If you move a lot of data, you've noticed that as convenient as flash drives are, they never seem to be as fast as you'd like. USB 3.0 changes the game. Flash Survivor USB 3.0 offers read speeds up to four times faster than traditional USB 2.0 drives. It's fast enough to view most videos directly from your Flash Survivor, without having to take the usual extra step of copying it to a hard drive first. Not only is Flash Survivor USB 3.0 backward compatible with USB 2.0 - it offers great performance, too. No matter how up-to-date your PC is, you'll be able to quickly take care of moving your files and be off on your next adventure.

Seems well built, waterproof case a plus, a little bulky but still OK. Got average 70read and 33Mb/s write on USB 3.0 and 25Mb/s read/20Mb/s write on USB 2.0

Like the speed and ruggedness , BUT it's built backwards. Without this flaw I would have given it five stars.

By being built backward I mean the part with the flash drive attaches to my key ring. This means that in order to plug the flash drive into my computer I have to take the device off of my key ring, unscrew the cover from the flash drive, put the cover in my pocket so I don't lose it, and then plug the flash drive into my computer.

If, instead of the flash drive, the cover attached to my key ring using it would be much simpler - I could leave the cover attached to my key ring, unscrew the flash drive from it, and plug the flash drive into my computer.

Bought it after almost breaking my old flashdrive and I love how it reads/writes at 30 and 26MB/s on usb 2.0
I don't need it to be waterproof to 200 meters but certainly helps knowing it won't have problems in a small puddle and it's fun to know you can step on it with no problem
all I need now is to have a computer with usb 3.0
