This review is from: Corsair 8GB Flash Voyager Mini USB 2.0 Flash Drive CMFUSBMINI-8GB (Personal Computers) I was looking for a small usb drive I could keep on my key chain that did not use a cap that I would end up losing. This drive fulfills that purpose pretty well but does have a few drawbacks. First though a couple pros of this drive. It is fairly small at just under 1 3/4" x 3/4" x 3/8". Also the shell is made out of a soft rubber that seems pretty durable. The clip to attach the drive to a keyring reminds me of a necklace clip. While it is handy and after a bit of practice pretty easy to attach and remove the drive, it seems a little fragile and I worry a bit about it breaking off. I haven't measured the speed of the drive but it feels a little slower than some of the drives I've used in the past, not horribly bad though. The biggest problem I've had with the drive so far is the usb connector has a tendency to just slide back into the drive instead of going in the port. There is, however, one major flaw: The rubber hole which is used to attach this onto one's keychain is incredibly flimsy. It broke within days, and no amount of superglue will keep it together. Therefore, this drive is now useless to me. If it's not on my keychain, it's lost. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager Mini USB 2.0 Flash Drive CMFUSBMINI-16GB (Personal Computers) This one is quite small and it feels durable because of the rubber housing. Speed-wise, it's just decent, meaning around 5 MB/s write and 20 MB/s read. For a 16GB drive, the write speed is quite small as it will take forever if you want to fill it in one go. It also has a quite long access time compared to other USB sticks I own. |
