I purchased this device with the intent of using it to back up my photos daily from one SD card to another for my upcoming vacation without needing to bring a laptop, in case an SD card got lost, stolen, or damaged. After trying it out, I quickly realized that it will not work for this purpose.
First, it took me awhile to figure out how to get it to copy photos from one card to another. My first few tries resulted in the device staying lit up for awhile, then turning off with no files copied. I realized that you have to first turn it on, then insert the source/destination cards, then press which set of files you want to copy, then press the "copy" button - all in that order. The colored indicators on the device don't match all the descriptions in the included directions.
After I was able to get the device to copy files, it seemed to stay on for quite a long period of time for the amount of data on the card - a minute or two for only 1 or 2 10 megapixel photos...Read more
