By professional reasons, I usually need a lot of memory capacity in flash drives.
When I buy a new one, I have 3 concerns:
1. It must be shock resistant. This Kingston structure is made in rubber and, when it falls, it jumps instead of break;
2. It can't be slow, especially for writing. I had a 32GB Patriot Xporter, an excellent memory. I think this Kingston 128GB is a little faster both for reading and writing;
3. As much as possible, it is desirable that the flash drive has some protection against water. This Kingston has a cap that really closes it and protects from water and other liquids. I'd not say it is totally waterproof but, if it drops in water for a short period of time, it will not be damaged.
Is it cheap? Sure it is not. But you get what you pay for. Everything cosidered, I think the price is fair.

Pros
- FAST
- FAST!
- Did i mention fast?
- Rugged
- Reliable
- Stands out
- Idiot proof
Cons
- Bigger then standard USB
- Cap doesn't stay on the back securely
First up, lightening fast. It lives up to the advertised speed, unlike most USB drives. It's rugged case means throwing this baby around is a planned exercise, not a feared annoyance. The only issue i have is it is bigger then a normal drive, meaning a slight inconvenience for some people with tight spaces for USB slots. This was fine for me however. The cap sits on the back while in use, but i slight agitation and it can fall off.
I would have to say the best thing about this USB is the colour scheme. It's incredibly easy to identify on a busy desk, which is ideal for someone like me working in an office environment. When im in a rush, I just scan the horizon for a orange piece of brilliance and alas, I find my lost companion. Same goes with the...Read more

There's a huge choice in USB drives these days. The most common thing that people overlook is that beyond fancy packaging and memory size, not all USB drives are created equal. Most USB drives read/write at rates of 10mb/5mb. If you don't transfer large numbers of files or multi-gigabyte files, this is perfectly fine. However, if you do find yourself wanting better performance, then it's time to upgrade to the R500.
The general pricing of standard Kingston 16Gb USB drives is about $8-$10 cheaper than the R500, yet, the R500 is 3 to 4 times faster, reading at 30Mb and writing at 20Mb. This makes an ENORMOUS difference if transferring many files or very large ones. Last but not least, if you utilize the ReadyBoost* feature in Windows, you'll have much better performance with a faster USB device. The price difference really ends up paying back in the long run, as you'll be more productive every time you use it. It's a no-brainer choice!
Some of the casings...Read more
