Product Description
With the LaCie iamaKey, inventive storage meets data protection. The key-shaped design is functional and memorable, and the protection that the LaCie iamaKey offers makes it extremely reliable. Best of all, with its 4GB and 8GB models, you can fit an enormous amount of data in a small flash drive. With the universal Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface, iamaKey can be used with both PC and Macs. Hi-Speed USB 2.0 not only offers universal compatibility and cross-platform convenience, but features a hot-pluggable connection and high-speed transfer rates, and is Windows ReadyBoost compatible. With its eye-catching design, the iamaKey certainly stands out, but its connector (Gold SIP) is both water- and scratch-resistant, making it one of the most durable and thinnest USB keys on the market. Protective edges on the connectors ensure that you ll always insert the LaCie iamaKey properly, keeping it usable and safe.
Summary: Best USB Thumb Drive I've owned 2010-08-31
Comment: Works great, love the fact it's always with me (cause it's on my key chain) and I am amazed at how many 'COOL!' comments I get from everyone from The Kinko's guy to my tech friends. I mean I didn't buy it for the cool factor, but it is really cool. The only negative comment I have is that I lost the little plastic cap in the first 3 days, though that hasn't effected the function of the device yet.

Summary: Its The Best 2010-08-31
Comment: The U.S.B. is great, it fits nicely on yur key chain, looks like an actual key and is great for that single din or double din radio w/usb hookup! The convenience and light weight make it so much more worth th ewhile rather than carrying some loose usb in yur pocket and risk loosing it! only down fall is you loose the plastic cover quickly but other than that its a perfect 5 star

Summary: Very Fine Idea. 2010-08-27
Comment: I am a contract programmer and have been using this product for over one year.
I lost the little plastic cap in probably the first week. It makes no difference. I wear the Lacie on my car key ring and it has been very rugged. It has caused me no problems.
Those who complain about speed are purists. It's plenty fast enough for USB2.
Most important. I may walk off and leave it plugged into a machine; but since it's with my car keys, it's impossible for me to drive off and leave it behind. That has been invaluable.
It makes a great and much appreciated gift.
It has great wow factor.
What's not to like?

Summary: Cool appearance, but went through 2 drives in only 3 months 2010-08-25
Comment: Let's start with the positives: this is a pretty cool-looking USB drive, and its fits easily on a key ring. However appearances can be deceiving. Firstly, the cap that protects the metal connections keeps falling off and it's certainly an after thought and not a great design feature. More importantly I have had a drive stop working after only 1 month, and the replacement that Amazon sent me (very quickly, mind you) also failed with identical I/O drive errors after 2 months. The problem is that at some point the drive gets very SLOW and can no longer be written to. No, it's not full. Files cannot be deleted and the drive won't reformat. LaCie support is fairly ineffectual and they insist you open an account in order to contact them. They will only post replies to your support questions via your account, which I found irritating. I've given up with this product and would definitely not recommend it.

Summary: Technician's Review 2010-08-23
Comment: The key isn't as simplistic to utilize as a regular USB thumb drive, but you aren't purchasing this for ease. It's all about looks, and it performs well once connected. The plastic piece protecting the copper connections at the end will be lost quickly as everyone else projects in their reviews. It took mine two to three weeks, and I was extra careful not to lose it from purveying the previous reviews. It is a bit more difficult to connect; because, it's not completely idiot proof like a regular thumb drive. Once you observe the connection and how it connects, it will be as easy as all the rest. Great product, great price. I'll buy another once I need more storage capacity.
