Summary: Lexar JumpDrive: Worked Great until I got a new computer 2010-07-22
Comment: I used this flash drive (and the encryption feature) without problems until my computer crashed and I replaced it with a PC w/Win 7. The Lexar does not work on Windows 7 and there are no driver updates to correct the problem. I may as well throw the flash drive in the trash - why wouldn't the company create a fix for converting to a new operating system? I'm very disatisfied by this. One star given for performance with XP.

Summary: So far no problems using on multiple computers 2010-06-14
Comment: I use this jumpdrive to transfer files from several computers/laptops, both mac and pc. So far I haven't had any problems. The memory gauge on the outside of the drive is also helpful to determine when the drive is full if you don't want to go to the trouble of looking it up via a computer. The only thing I do not like is that the keyring hole is on the cap of this jump drive instead of the actual drive. I regret to say that wearing this drive on your neck via lanyard is no the way to go, while the cap fits tightly into place I did manage to lose my first drive. Still not sure if it was because the cap had worn down or I had not put the cap on properly. But I liked this jumpdrive enough to buy a second one.

Summary: Took long time for my PC to recognize this drive. 2010-06-06
Comment: I am Lexar JumpDrive Secure II fan. I've been using its 2GB, 4GB and 8GB versions and I am totally satisfied with them. Last Christmas, I lost my 8GB one during a trip. I bought this 16GB version. When I plugged it into my PC, it took too long time (usually 1 to 2 minutes) for my PC to recognize the jumpdrive. It happens to several PCs around me. It eventually will show up as a removable drive. However you have to be patient. I hope Lexar will come up a solution for this problem.
BTW, I do not have other problem as previous reviews did.

Summary: Loyal to Lexar 2010-05-19
Comment: If Lexar makes it, I buy it. Yes, they cost more than some others, but you don't ever have a problem with them. The only thumb drives I own and use are Lexar. I have never, ever had a problem. I have sent them back and forth in the mail (and we all know how the post office handles small packages) yet they weren't damaged. I love and use the exterior capacity meter, it's a great idea. My data is safe on their drives and I just plain like them. They look good, they work well, they last. So what's not to like?

Summary: Works great on Windows 7 2010-05-06
Comment: This USB stick and the SecureII encryption software work fine on Windows 7 provided you understand how Windows 7 works. Unlike XP, just being signed in as an administrator is not enough the execute some programs that could potentially modify your system. You must explicitly RUN the program as an administrator. Simply right click on the SecureII.exe and choose "Run as administrator". Then you will be able to open and create vaults.
