Comment: The Lexar 64 GB Jump Drive worked immediately, fully compatible with my laptop and transfers data reasonably quickly. I use it as a backup medium for my hard drive. Good product and would recommend it.

Comment: wanted a 32 gig drive and this fits the bill. really like the fold in feature. has 29.8 not 32 but that seems to be the norm ie. all drives have less actual than rated.

Comment: I originally gave this product a good review, but now don't like it or the management team that I spoke with. I have had it just over a month and it is malfunctioning. The computer can no longer recognize the drive. I spoke to an Indian man that I couldn't understand who told me I need to take it to a data recovery company. Another Indian man "Jack" (yeah, right!), said they won't pay to try to recover my files and they will not refund my money. They will only send me a new one...after they test it and it will take 14-21 days. Hopefully that one works for more than a couple of months. I had all of my business documents on it and they are not even sure a recovery company can get anything off of it since the computers no longer see the device. I would think twice before getting this.

Summary: 2nd time is the charm--NOW it works 2010-05-24
Comment: This would be a great drive but there's a problem where I plug it in, it recognizes, I can put files on it, and then within a few minutes it disconnects, and then reconnects. And keeps doing that over and over and over.
This happened on both Windows XP and Vista machines.
I tried full reformatting as NTFS, and it made no difference.
Contacted Lexar but they had no knowledge base on this, and the tech support person had no idea. Bad bad bad.
I Googled on the problem and confirmed that I'm not "special"--others had this same issue.
Give the other positive reviews, I'm going to (optimistically) think I just got a bad unit and exchange it at the store for a new one. Hope that one works.
OK, took this puppy back to Office Depot exchanged it for another. the second one works like a charm, no problems at all.
So looks like indeed I did get a bad unit the first time around.
Note, this is 4 star because Lexar had zero guidance for me on this potentially being the case. No KB article saying "some customers report... we recommend..." Nothing. Zip. The bar is higher now folks! Come on, you go to all of the trouble to get custom silicon, source the memory, build the case, promote, fill the channel, and the zillion other things, and then the support for basically dead products is lacking? hello?
ok, enough of my rant. anyhow, now that I've got a fully working unit, it's good.
