Product Review

Easily store and protect your files on the go. Lexar JumpDrive Secure II Plus is a sleek, high-capacity USB flash drive that comes preloaded with advanced security software. The software gives you the ability to create multiple password-protected areas called Encrypted Vaults that automatically encrypt your data with on-the-fly 256-bit AES encryption. And for peace of mind that your data is secure, the File Shredder feature lets you securely and thoroughly delete files so they can't be recovered. What’s more, the drive boasts an always-on capacity meter that lets you easily view your available storage space at a glance.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality drives, April 29, 2010

Avoid this particular "JumpDrive Secure II" line of drives at all costs.

My company recently purchased mass quantities of these things in 4 and 8GB varities. My immediate group has 18 people, and most of our drives (all but two, I believe) have failed in some fashion.

Case (1) is a little strange because when you insert the drive, Windows will give you the common error stating that you have a USB 2.0 device that would perform faster if you plugged it into a USB 2.0 port. Then you're relegated to 1.0 speeds. This drove me nuts for quite some time, thinking I had a problem with the actual port on my laptop or with Windows drivers, etc. It wasn't until...Read more

I love this product due to the great security software. However, be aware, if you have a 64-bit computer, you will not be able to access the secure vaults (thus, no security). I have contacted Lexar and they were not able to offer any timeline as to when they would have a patch to fix this problem.

I was able to get my Lexar 1G SecureII working with Windows7-64bit after downloading "Secure II Software v2.0.0.1" from the lexar.com website.
