I have used many different brands: Lexar, PNY, Kingston, Sandisk & generics brands etc... I am extremely careful with all of my tech devices etc... All I do is carry the flash drive in my pocket and take it out when I need it etc... (I have NEVER washed one in the washing machine!)
I am VERY disappointed with PNY for the poor housing of this particular model. I had only used SanDisk up until this point, but when I saw the Mini Attache was the same price for the 16GB and was smaller and sleeker, I decided to go with it. It performs beautifully, with great speeds (Vista ReadyBoost capable, something my 4 GB SanDisk was not) and the 16GB drive has so much storage capacity I can't imagine needing another one for quite some time. It does not come with the U3 software that the popular SanDisk Cruzer does, however most of the people I know delete that immediately anyway. I was actually a fan of the software, using it to carry Firefox with me wherever I went. However, I have found that the PortableApps platform has been just as easy to use and just as fast and convenient (if not moreso) than U3, so if you are a fan of U3, no worries, PortableApps is freeware...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: PNY Mini Attache 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive P-FD8GB/MINI-EF (Personal Computers) Flash drive was great for about a week. Fit on my key ring and went with me everywhere. However, after a short span of using it, the outer case broke off. Spend your money elsewhere if you can. |
