These are perfect because they're cheap and reliable. I had one of these before that I stored all of my data on for school but left it in a university computer lab and it was lost forever. They're not any faster than the average, but they do fine. On my old one I found that if you take off the black part of the case it's smaller, but the yellow plastic part will come apart in the middle eventually. A little super glue fixed this problem.
They'll tranfer about 5 MBps consistently whether storing or retrieving data. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I've loaded one with music and use it on my Sony Head Unit with a USB input in my Volkswagen Beetle.
It's not a problem for me, but the Flash Drive does flash a red LED light that may annoy some. It actually looks really good in my VW, since the interior lights are blue and red. Also, the "sheath" removes on both sides of the drive, revealing the "actual" orange flash drive. A minor annoyance, since you may lose the entire cover...and that is the only reason that I'm not giving the full five stars. By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I presently use PNY, HP, Lexor and Sandisk, and can't really tell the difference between them re: functionality. So I tend to buy mainly on price. As such, these are a good value if you're looking for a small (2GB) drive. Nice construction, good speed, no problems whatsoever in terms of use. The only problem I had with them is that the clamshell packaging is a real bear to open. Otherwise, zero complaints. |
