Summary: Poor Quality - High Price 2008-09-12
Comment: I've owned the 4gb version for less than a year now. A couple of days ago it simply stopped being recognized by my computer. Thinking it might be the computer, I tried plugging it in several other computers with the same failure result. I wish I could say that I was abusive with it so that I might justify it's failure, but I can't. It's been on my keychain. . .never dropped, never drowned, never anything. . .This was supposed to be bullet proof, water proof. . .basically indestructible. Well, that certainly isn't the case. I paid considerably more for this flash drive because of the advertised quality. I might add that all of graphics that initially adorned the drive have completely worn off as well. I have plastic flash drives that are at least twice as old and doing quite well. I wouldn't waste your money on this product. Lesson learned. . .Costco three pack.

Summary: Not as durable as I thought 2008-04-13
Comment: I bought this after reading many articles and reviews about it. It seemed like exactly what I needed. I like the screw on cover as opposed to the normal snap on ones making it harder to lose the cover or the drive itself. The problem with the one I got is that I accidentally dropped in on the floor about 2 weeks after I got it and now the drive is permanently damaged. I cannot access the drive no matter what pc I try it on, even after formatting. I would think that something that is waterproof, fireproof and bulletproof could survive a 3ft drop to a tiled floor. Guess I was wrong. Now it's just a cool looking paperweight. Also be wary, I noticed a few sellers are offering this drive for $60+ which is twice the normal price.

Summary: Badass Flash drive 2006-11-26
Comment: This is by far the most stylish drive I've seen or owned. It's also the toughest. The quality of its construction is flawless and has a really rich look to it. Like the other reviewer, I've had no problem fitting this into any USB ports (its footprint is similar to other drives I've owned). And its data transmission rates seem faster than my last drive, which was also USB 2.0.
Although I've never heard of Pretec before, and took a shot in the dark in buying this, I have to say I'm really impressed with the design and quality from this company.

Summary: Won't lose this one! 2006-11-11
Comment: Had to get back into the market for one of these after losing my $20 Target special. Problem is, after a year, the data lost hurt way more than the 20 bucks. I figured if I bought a nicer flash drive, that was durable enough to throw into a pocket or clip to a belt with confidence, this wouldn't happen again. Well this thing is like an accessory, with class like a nice pair of cuff links. I was worried about the round shape as some USB ports are recessed into computer towers, but after 6 different types between home and job, I have yet to find a front access port that has given me this problem. In fact, I just bought my brother one for his birthday. Sure it's a little more expensive, but it's bulletproof, and good lookin enough not to lose!
