This review is from: SanDisk 16GB Ultra Backup USB 2.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ40-016G-A11) (Personal Computers) THIS THING SUCKS!!! I have always used SanDisk products because they were so much faster and better quality. I was really exited that this item would backup with just the push of a button but I was quickly disappointed. Setup was slow, confusing and clunky. The backup time took 2 hr's where as Windows Backup only took 10 minutes to backup the same data. There is an option to pay more $ for an upgraded version of the backup software but after seeing how badly this worked I wasn't willing to shell out even more money. I stripped out all the software and now have an overpriced jump drive. SanDisk should be ashamed of the way they are fleecing the consumer with this product. Save the extra $ and just buy a regular flash drive. 26 of 26 people found the following review helpful: By David K. For example, transferring a 2GB photo card to the SanDisk took about 30 minutes. The backup software is useless on a Mac. Look for a different flash drive. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful: By Book Lover (New York, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: SanDisk 16GB Ultra Backup USB 2.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ40-016G-A11) (Personal Computers) After literally hours on the phone with SanDisk tech support, they advise that I must purchase an external power hub in order for this device to function on my computer. Even though my iphone and other backup devices function just fine on my usb ports, they contend it's Dell's and not their fault. Nor will they provide any hard data on what makes/models will run their device and which will not. This is very misleading advertising. The device works, they say, just not on your particular Dell computer. Ripoff. |
