Summary: Poor 2008-10-21
Comment: I received the product undamaged. However, i failed to read the part of the description which states that is is equipped with the "u3" software. This stuff is garbage. It is too "buggy" and I have many issues trying to get the computer at work to recognize it. Work is running windows 2000 Pro. At home it did great with Vista. However the bottom line is the whole "u3" software is just bells and whistles. If you need to simply transfer non sensitive material to and from work stay away from "U3". The ICING on the cake was it died after 3 weeks of struggling with it. Taking my documents with it. Spend some more money and save yourself the headache.

Summary: Slider means NO MORE LOST CAPS!! 2008-10-20
Comment: I originally bought 2 of the SanDisk Cruzer Slides, for myself and my daughter in law, so we could exchange picture files by mail, we loved them so much I bought four more for my high school kids. The slider has meant no more tossed drives because of lost caps, so they can keep these hooked to their backpacks or key rings to bring school work back & forth, including music files. I'll be buying more!!!

Summary: Awesome Flash Drive 2008-10-18
Comment: This is a replacement for a two-year old Sandisk Cruzer mini that I lost the cap for and managed to mash the connector.
Not a problem with this drive. It a sturdy design with no loose cap to lose. The slide cap is just what I was looking for. The big non-slip ring is big enough for my ham hands to grasp.
There is no obvious l.e.d. that most other drives have to let you know they are installed and being accessed. I thought I could live without that, but when I plugged it in, the drive glowed behind the Sandisk name, and flashed during file transfer.
There have been quite a few comments in other Sandisk reviews on the evils of the U3 software that comes with the drive. Yes, when I inserted the drive the first time a dialog popped up and said I would have to reboot, but I told it "later." I then went to Sandisk's Website and read up on the perceived benefits of U3. After deciding it was of no benefit to me, I downloaded and ran "launchpadremoval.exe" and that was the end of it. If I find I can use it later I can always download it from Sandisk.
The only question I have is, "Why would someone pay $20.66 for a black one when a red one is 12.44?" Both are eligible for free shipping, too.

Summary: Nice and compact 2008-10-12
Comment: My husband really likes how small and compact this USB drive is. He especially likes that it will not and cannot fall off of his key chain--which has happened to two others he has owned. It is simple and has no caps to lose and will tolerate a fair amount of abuse. Overall- great!

Summary: Great Customization 2008-10-03
Comment: This portable drive is great. Usually when you get a hard drive that comes loaded with programs on it, they can become annoying and take up your time. This drive lets you change the settings for whenever you plug it into a computer. You can also keep the programs from running or uninstall them altogether. I'm glad I have this portable disk drive.
