4.0 out of 5 stars Too Thin, January 11, 2007

This review is from: Sony Micro Vault Tiny 2 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive with Virtual Expander USM2GH/T2 (Personal Computers)
The design and colors are great, also the size, I just have a problem with my laptop because the Micro Vault is so thin that doesn't touch the contacts in the USB port. My laptop only recognize the device in 1 of 3 usb ports. I tried in other laptops and still have the same problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty much good for archiving only..., October 9, 2006
This review is from: Sony Micro Vault Tiny 2 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive with Virtual Expander USM2GH/T2 (Personal Computers)
Saw this for sale recently and picked it up despite already having a couple 1GB SanDisk micros as well as a 2GB one. I pretty much just got it since it was TINY. I figured it'd be slower than my others.

I was right. I can't give specific numbers as far as speed, but it's VERY noticeable. On my others, I can take a folder full of images and copy them and, BAM, it's all on the flash drive - almost no wait time at all. The same folder which took no time at all on my other drives takes a couple seconds on the Sony 2GB Micro Vault. I can only imagine what it'll be like if I were to try and copy a gig or so of data at once.

Okay, that was to be expected, maybe a little slower than I had hoped, but it's tolerable as long as you're not copying to and from ALL the time.

So, my recommendation is to use this one pretty much for archiving only. I use my sandisk 2GB drive to keep all my documents, portable applications, videos, and stuff that I'm...Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Just the right size for the Sony BDP-S350, December 30, 2008
This review is from: Sony Micro Vault Tiny 2 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive with Virtual Expander USM2GH/T2 (Personal Computers)
Very clever of Sony making USB thumb drives that were exactly the right physical size to fit their BCP-S350 blueray player. I tried other flash drives but they were all too large in width to fit this overly narrow (on purpose I'm sure) slot. So all I can say is that this is perfect, though pricey, for that purpose. Works absolutely fine.
