Comment: SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer Titanium ( SDCZ7-2048-A10, Retail Package)
This was necessary to use when I converted from Milleneum system to Vista. I did not have a writeable CD. It worked well. The package is impossible to open.

Summary: Outstanding product 2008-05-16
Comment: Very compact, easy to use item. I have had no problems whatsoever with this. I can transfer large files quickly to it, and it opens them quickly. I highly recommend this to anyone needing this size of flash drive.

Summary: Slow as s!n 2008-05-13
Comment: Like many others, I found this to be incredibly slow on a Mac, particularly when copying a lot of small files. Basically, if you have a Mac, don't get this, you'll regret it sorely.

Summary: Slylish and quick 2008-05-09
Comment: I picked up this drive (2GB, model USM2GJ) on sale at Staples for $13. Bought it as a gift, but liked the looks so kept it for myself.
It is very stylish looking, but when I got it out of the package it felt a little flimsy (not as flimsy as the Sandisk Cruzer Micro). It's very light and thin, so neighboring USB ports remain accessible for me.
Transfer speeds with USB 2.0 are fine for me, although not the fastest, plenty fast for backups and sneaker-net. I do not use the Expander software at all (which probably slows things down anyway), but do use TrueCrypt to secure my stuff in case of loss or theft. Anyone who complains about lack of encryption should read the package versus making assumptions, and use Truecrypt which is free, open source, secure and can be used on anything.
No lanyard or even thread loop is included, which would have been nice, but the little indent to use your own is. I'm geeky and don't mind wearing a thumb drive around my neck where it's safe, rather than crunch it with my keys in my pocket. Another nice feature is the capless design, although I have never lost any caps on my other drives. A small green LED flashes the push button slider button to let you know read/write status.
Over all nice, sleak drive, lots of style, good performance, great buy for the price ($13) compared to no name brands made in China, who's quality and pedigree may be questionable. Thanks.

Summary: Don't be fooled like I was by the deceptive marketing! 2008-02-08
Comment: I bought this product thinking that "vault", as in the industry standard use of the word, meant that the data stored on it would be encrypted. It doesn't encrypt the data. It only compresses it; but guess what? If you lose it, it has the compression software right on it, so anyone can uncompress the files.
To top it off, there isn't a strap or even a loop that you could attach a lanyard or strap. Stupid me, I thought one would come in the pack, or at least the product would have a loop.
Don't be deceived.
