Summary: Excellent USB Memory 2008-06-21
Comment: Originally when I purchased this memory stick I didn't realize that it was not Vista compatible. However I was pleasantly surprised to find out afterwards that there is a download to make it compatible. I plan on buying another Verbatim Store & Go with more memory later on.

Comment: Other 4GB size, which speaks for itself, the U3 functionality helped make the purchase decision. U3 provides the ability to run standard software - internet browser, email client, word processor and similar - from the flash drive. It also keeps personal settings such as email server addresses and passwords on the drive. When plugged in to a host computer, the automatic setup procedure takes a few seconds, then was has effectively a shelled mini-system which does not leave any trace on the host computer. I have used it at one conference that provided terminals, and although the staff there weren't used to this new technology, they let me use it. Connection to my work's email server was easy; I downloaded all messages, read some of them immediately and replied later at the laptop at the hotel which only offered an expensive connection. Next day, I reconnected the flash drive at the conference and sent the messages off. So far, I am very happy with this drive. The only thing that could have been solved better is the cap which is not teathered and get get easily lost (at least I do :-).
As always, ask yourself: Do I really need this? No matter how easy things are to use, you will spend time fidgeting with it, and it will at some point frustrate you.
