Summary: Store 16GB on a little memory stick flash-drive! 2008-08-28
Comment: (This review is for the "Verbatim Store and Go Pro 16GB USB (96663)".)
I've been using this memory stick for about two months now. I also have a 2GB Store and Go Pro model, which I've used on and off for almost three years. I've been very happy with the 2GB model - very fast and reliable. (I would definitely rate the 2GB PRO unit as a 5-star.)
I have no problems with my own PC recognizing the Verbatim sticks every time. I've used them on a few other computers as well and they all recognize them too, although some take as many as 2-3 tries.
The 2GB PRO model has a claimed Read Speed of 23MB/sec (150x) and Write Speed of 14MB/sec (90x). Over the years, I have tried other memory sticks, and this 2GB Verbatim PRO has been definitely the fastest.
The 16GB PRO model has the specifications of Read Speed=30MB/sec (200x) and Write Speed=12MB/sec (80x). You will definitely notice the difference in Read Speed! It is amazingly quick when you click on a folder and open a file in it. Really. But the Write Speed is a little disappointing. When you want to Copy and Paste a bunch of folders at once to the 16GB PRO, it can take noticeably longer than with the 2GB PRO model. At other times, Writing onto the 16GB PRO is quite fast (with single, large files). In my opinion, overall, Writing is noticeably slower than on the 2GB PRO model, but it is still pretty good compared to other high-capacity, small-case format flash drives you could buy.
Both units contain a blue light indicating activity on the stick. With the 2GB PRO model, the blue light is always on while it is inserted in your computer (and way too bright). With the 16GB PRO unit, the blue light is smaller, dimmer and is only on when there is an activity going on. A nice improvement!
The 2GB PRO has a permanent USB head with a plastic cap. I had no problems with it over the years; I like it, and still have the original cap. The 16GB PRO has a retractable USB connector, so that you will not lose the cap (because there is no cap to begin with). But it is a little awkward putting it into a USB socket. And it feels like that in the long-run the USB head will slide back into the stick as you are trying to insert it in your computer. It hasn't happened yet, but only time will tell.

Summary: Worthless--DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! 2008-06-26
Comment: This product failed twice on me. My computer stopped recognizing it within a month of purchase. Verbatim sent me another. This one worked long enough to be out of warranty and then stopped being recognized by my computer or any computer. I tried various things to format it, etc. Nothing worked. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
