Summary: Great value for --$17 2008-09-17
Comment: I bought my flash drive when it was on sale in Office Depot for $17, and must i say, i use this product quite regularly and have never encountered any of the problems mentioned by the others. However i did format the drive immediately upon opening the product, which you should do for all your memory drives.

Summary: Saty away from this junk! 2008-03-05
Comment: I bought this two weeks ago at Staples for the great price fo $40. It worked well for about a week. I had several large files on the drive, and had enough room to save another one before it was full. I kept getting the disk full message. I safely took it out of one computer, and tried opening files on another one, when it simply read that the unit had no files. Stay away from this brand, unless you wish to lose your data.

Summary: nothing but problems 2008-01-02
Comment: Got a great deal at a B&M store but it has kept breaking on me. I owned it for only 2 months the first time. I simply pulled it out of the computer usb port and the case stayed in my hand and the chip stayed in the computer! I pulled the data off, put it back together and took it back. With a little convincing, they replaced it and I got to use it for another 3 months before it just stopped working. It didn't come apart, it just stopped being recognized by the computer. I put a file on it, walked accross the building to another computer and the computer didn't see it. I tried it on a dozen computers since and nothing knows it's there. It simply died.
Now it's been a whole year since I bought it and I'm finally getting around to using the warrenty to get it replaced again. I've been using my Lexar 1gb in the meantime which I've owned for over 2 years with no problems (and before that, a 128mb Lexar for another 2 years also with no problems). So to me, since I didn't have a track record of misuse, I'm pointing my finger at Verbatim for faulty design.
Worse part is, I'll get a replacement but I won't feel safe using it for fear it'll break again. What am I suppose to do, gift it and make it someone else's problem?
